Midway Community Hub is designed for people to meet, learn and celebrate. The ocean outlook keeps energy high; the rooms are practical and easy to set up. Choose the Boardroom for smaller rōpū or committees, or the Mana Moana Lounge for larger hui, meetings, fundraisers, performances and celebrations. Our team supports your tikanga — from karakia at the start to kai together — and helps you land on a layout that fits.

An oceanfront conference venue in Gisborne with a deep balcony and 180° views from Te Kurī-a-Pāoa (Young Nicks Head) to Tuamotu Island. Easy inside/outside flow for kai, mingling and photos.
A quiet, modern room for committees, planning groups and small classes. Large display (HDMI/USB-C), whiteboard and fast Wi-Fi included.

Find us at 40 Centennial Marine Drive, Awapuni, Gisborne 4010 — right on Midway Beach and a short drive from the airport and CBD. There’s free parking beside the Hub, straightforward delivery access for suppliers and accessible facilities throughout.

Keep it simple by choosing a trusted local providers for morning teas, hot lunches or formal dinners. We can provide a Self-service Tea/Coffee station. You’re welcome to bring your own catering, décor and materials — we’ll brief you on access, bump-in/bump-out and service points so everything runs to time. We can connect you with Gisborne caterers, AV techs, stylists and photographers.

Every booking includes tables and chairs, lectern, inbuilt audio, one wireless microphone, Wi-Fi, and access to onsite bathrooms and accessible entry including a lift. The Lounge adds ocean views and direct balcony access; the Boardroom adds a large display for presentations. AV options (projector/TV, mic) are available on request, and both spaces can access a large kitchen for self-catering or working with your preferred vendors. We prep the space before your arrival and do a basic reset afterwards.

Yes, while we don’t directly offer catering, we have access to some excellent local caterers for you to choose from or your can bring your own.
The lounge is not licenced for alcohol sales, you will need to get a Special Licence from the GDC to sell alcohol to your guests. Alcohol provided at no charge during an event is considered a private function and no licence is required. A responsible, sober adult must be present if alcohol is served.
Yes we have a lift and accessible entry and facilities throughout.
Boardroom: typically 6:00am–9:00pm. Lounge: typically 7:00am–Midnight. Ask about a next-day clean-up window (subject to availability).
Daytime use, we will take care of this for you. For events, please remove rubbish/recycling at the end of hire. We reset the room the morning following events.
